One Student One Card

Multi-Application Student Card Network is a total solution for all students', faculty's and staff's need. Including access control, restaurant, buffet, clubs, dorms, libraries, laboratories, press, workshops, buses, etc. The student card in this solution is a hybrid card which allows e-purse for Micro-payments via its contactless chip as well as macro-payments via its magnetic strip and banking POSes.

Multi-Application Student Card Network lies as an extension layer to the underlying IT infrastructure of university or campus. One of advantages of this layer is its XML-Based communication protocol to the underlying infrastructure, which is flexible and tunable to all third-parties soft-switch units such as admission units, libraries, restaurant, clubs, etc. This solution makes it easy to migrate to really "One Student – One Card" scheme with minimum hardware and software changes A unique and global Serial No. assigned for each card as well as its strong Triple-DES authentication scheme, makes it enough secure and reliable tool for identification in whole campus. Meanwhile, up to twelve applications find the memory space among 4KB of flash EEPROM in the card for identification and management. Strong MAC authentication for Administration, charge (Write) and use (Read/Write) separately in all twelve applications as well as Master Identification purpose, is another state-of-the-art features in this solution. Applications which are proposed and ready-to-join include Access control, Restaurant, Buffet, Semester Registration, Dorms, Libraries, Press, Clubs, Laboratories, Workshops, Bus and Examination Hall Attending System.

Fantastic GUI with touch-screen displays and contactless reader interfaces, built in a robust and reliable chassis named Kiosk makes an interesting and funny environment. Multipurpose, User-friendly Kiosks which are provided in two sizes (K604 and K404) make it possible to be used for several applications (within twelve) simultaneously. All Kiosks are provided with Ethernet 10-100 interface, and may be equipped with Wi-Fi technology as option .


Student Card's Life Cycle begins at his/her admission and entrance. When his/her card issued, printed and personalized within MASC personalization sub-system, it is moved to Bank for account registration causing magnetic strip to be encode with his/her bank account info embossing of card holder's name and account no. may be possible on the bank's order. Now a hybrid card containing both campus and bank info but in the separate technologies and media is ready to be used by student. Revival and use of card within semesters don't affect the card's validity. Just for lost cards and graduated students, similar tasks should be followed in the campus and the bank for managing card-holder's account or credit card.
 


Micro-payment model allows card holders (student) to pay for retail fees less than $25 in each transaction in a secure environment without need to be connected to the bank account directly. This model complies Optimized VLP proposed by VISA International using MSD-like structures with MAC symmetric authentication scheme.

Charge Process:
Transfer of money from card holder's bank account to his/her micro-account in the MASC Network, MASC Network also has an intermediate cash as an account in the bank collecting students' micro accounts as well as Merchants' micro accounts.

Micro-pay process:
Transfer of money from students' (buyers) micro account to the Merchant’s micro- account. At the end of everyday a bill of merchant charges to be paid from MASC Network Cash Account is stated to the Bank, and guaranteed to be paid within 24 hours after sell. Merchants in a campus such as Restaurants, Buffet, Buses, Press, Clubs …, normally sense more convenience with micro-payment model via contactless POSes and cards where less care and maintenance is required.
